The Institute runs multidirectional thematic studies of the original documentation including manuscripts available in the libraries, state, church and religious archives, private collections and other public institutions entitled to archive and store the documents, both in Poland and outside of the country.

The main aim of this activities is to promote the tradition and the family ethos, save from the forgetting and destroying the valuable monuments of  Polish writing, including personal diaries, family documentation, and the promotion of the proper use of the genealogy as a science. It is also publishing of the work already done, education of the society and the promotion of the family studies, tradition and the cultural heritage in the nation's conscience.

SEARCH IN THE ARCHIVES

Run in both Polish and foreign archives consist of:

• Public registers penetration: certificates of the birth, marriages and deaths, making copies and registers
• Thematic queries in the judicial, land, municipal, tax, hypothec, and statistics documents
• Prevent ional activities, aiming to save the family, public register and other documents - presently outside of the archives - its electronic registration and archiving

This works lets us prepare:

• Family biographies including its publications
• Ancestral conducts (both on the spear and distaff sides)
• Pedigrees and its graphic presentation - on the spear side, to its earliest known ancestor
• Collection of the available data regarding the studied last name and the family members, found in the documents and regarding their professions, functions, positions, properties, achievements, migrations,  population and the etymology of the last name
• Statistic break-downs regarding all available information presenting the age averages, health condition, profession, fertility, activities, migrations, population, social contacts and other

It also results in:

• Facilitating of the defining the property rights, obtaining the documents of hypothecs and similar, as the result allowing the legal property ownership procedures
• Searching the inheritors and missing people
• All type of individual thematic studies

SEARCH IN THE LIBRARY MATERIALS

This consists of the research in several thousands of most important genealogical (but not only) positions, including: armorials, noble (but not  only) last names lists and other thematic literature, allowing to define if  the information regarding the family in the leading Polish and foreign libraries exists. Our Institute as the specialized organization owns its proper thematic library, which may be used for the queries.Moreover, we assist FREE in the simple cases, which do not require costs:
